You ever wonder how these VIP Fan Packages are created? Well meet the minds behind Sound Rink, the company founded by Scott, Cody, and Jason that are creating these packages with some of your favorite bands for their upcoming tours. They have worked with Gary Numan, Sick Puppies, Metro Station, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Bayside, Memphis May Fire, Glamour Kills Tour, Periphery, Danity Kane, Silverstein and Skate & Surf Festival among others. They are also currently working with Thrice, Say Anything, Ice Nine Kills and others. Current tours include: All Stars Tour, Summer Slaughter Tour, State Champs, Thrice, Hatebreed, Rockstar Energy Drink's Mayhem Festival and The Early November. In a few months they'll also be releasing an App (first in their sector to do so) that will streamline the process for fans as well.

1)What made you guys come up with this idea in creating a company that works with bands in creating these VIP Fan Experience Packages?
Scott, Cody and I (Jason) have been involved in the music industry for quite some time. Scott is a promoter and artist manager, Jason has worked in music marketing and also is an artist manager and Cody has been booking bands and promoting shows for quite some time. We initially came up with the idea to help our own internal clients engage with their fans, earn more revenue and gain another marketing tool for their tours or events. From there, it quickly spread outside of our internal rosters and becoming the entity that it is today.
2)How do you guys come up with ideas for packages? Do you work with the bands when creating the packages?
We always work directly with the bands team to come up with the best possible package based on their fans general interest. Most bands know exactly what their fans like, so certain items or experiences may not fly across the board from one band to the next. Everything is hand crafted by the band, manager, label and ourselves. Sometimes the bands are the most creative, and other times we let them know what works well for other artists we have worked with. Usually a team effort.
3) Has there been a noticeable difference in ticket sales due to packages being offered at available tours?
Tickets can be included in the experience / package that is being offered or as an upgrade, meaning you need to have your GA ticket already. It all depends on the tour and band. Sometimes we align it with a bands pre order for a new album launch where you get a ticket to their show, a pre order of the album plus all sorts of other perks. The more exclusive and creative the packages are, we always see a major increase in sales. The word travels fast after the experience as well, people who may have been hesitant find out from a friend that it was an awesome experience, so word of mouth helps a lot too for new buyers.
4)What will the upcoming App offer to fans?
The app will streamline the check out process as well as notify them directly via push notifications about tours or events on sale, if they choose this option. Fans will no longer need to print their email receipt, you just login into your app and share the screen at the box office window or to the tour manager at the designated meeting location to be granted access. Tons of new stuff, but we will let you find out once it is available later this year :)
